No veins....

In high school I got my wisdom teeth out when I was a junior. I remember going into surgery and getting my first IV. They tried sticking one arm....no luck. Then the other (and this time they fished around, which hurt really bad) and once again no luck! They then stuck the back of one of my hands which was the most painful, and once again no luck. We all thought it was because I had fasted before the surgery. The nurse told me that she would try the next hand and if they couldn't get a vein they would have to send me home. Well they found one and I was on my way to surgery.


Derek has been giving plasma for money lately. Not because we need it, but because he sees it as money given to him to do whatever he wants! So often he can go golfing 3 times a week with just his plasma money. Well I have found something expensive, but I really want it! I found out that if I give plasma for two weeks I could get it. I got super excited and decided on doing it! I went in for my appointment and what do you know.....the first test of the physical was to check my veins. I couldn't even pass the first step of giving plasma!!!!!

The lady had to take me back and get a second opinion because she said that my veins could not handle the needle size. The lady giving the second opinion cut off all circulation to my arms and started tapping them, which hurt pretty bad because there was no circulation. In one second my dreams of having extra money for the body bugg I want were gone! She told me that I could never donate because my veins were so small and they would never hold the needle!

You ever want something really bad and then get told you can't have it! I was so mad! Derek said it was a good thing, because I probably shouldn't do it. I think it is funny how everything about me is above average because  of my father's genes, but the one thing that can make me some extra money is below average!
