My first paid wedding......

This past weekend I photographed my first paid wedding. It was for a family friend from Lancaster so I drove out the California (which was great) for the wedding. The wedding was in Simi Valley at Lost Canyons golf course. It was beautiful, but I have to say I was the most nervous I have EVER been!

I had so much going through my mind of what could go wrong, what poses to do (getting candid shots because I hate posed shots), what the lighting will be like, how I will adjust to the lighting, will they like me, will they like the pictures......Oh my goodness my mind was going CRAZY the whole weekend! I just can't imagine screwing up someones wedding pictures! It is only the biggest day of someone's life.

The day went so good. I felt so at home around the Fletcher family that it made taking pictures of them so easy! I loved every minute of taking the pictures and capturing the moments. I loved being there and being part of the excitement with everyone and I was there through the whole thing. My wedding day was the best day of my life this far and words can not describe the magic of a wedding day! I read in a magazine recently about a wedding photographer who was basically telling people that it is not a glamorous job and that it was hard work and time consuming. I have to say that all the mental work of the wedding day was tiring, and now the editing not glamorous, but being there in that moment and capturing the emotions of two people on the happiest day of the beginning of their lives together is so glamorous and beautiful and worth all of the work!

I have to tell you about this bride before I post the pictures.....The definition of Jennifer Fletcher (the bride) is Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I remember being a little girl asking my mom one year if I could be Belle for Halloween....her reply was "No because you just want to be Jen." Jennifer would wear a very legitimate Belle costume for Halloween. I don't know how many times she wore it all I know is it was more then once. To me a little girl Jen looked just like Belle every time she put that dress on. I think Jen is beautiful and am so grateful  I was able to photograph her wedding.
