Bye-Bye facebook....

I have found myself lately wasting more time on social networking then I would like. I also hate all of the high school drama involved in it. This morning I decided to delete my account. I did it simply because the only reason I was going on there was to spy on other peoples lives it seemed like. Isn't that what facebook is now a days?

I find myself torn because I think facebook is a great way to get in touch with people and such but at the same time there are other ways to get in touch with people and if I really wanted, or needed to I can reactivate my account. I think this will be a good change for me and probably be a little more productive in my day to day life!

I am not against facebook, if used for the purpose of communicating. I think it is great but I am against how much I was on it just to see what is going on!

I think this scripture best describes what a lot of us do on facebook and yes I find myself felling this way.

Mosiah 13:24
"Thou shalt not acovet thy neighbor’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife, nor his man-servant, nor his maid-servant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbor’s."

I now I will tell Derek that I don't feel like we are behind in life. I don't feel like we should have 4 kids and a house and such. Then I will look at facebook and see how many of the kids I went to high school that do have those things and often think "Man what are we doing?"

I am done feeling this way. I should not be comparing my life to others and so it is Bye-bye to facebook for now. I might get back on it (around our 10 yr reunion time to see what is going on) but for now I am perfectly content without facebook in my life.
