Today I spent two hours in Walmart walking around shopping. I was wandering because I was getting the oil changed on our car. As I had walked around Walmart once I decided to sit in the McDonalds up front and get something for lunch. AS I sat there I all of a sudden had a flashback. I remembered sitting in the old Walmart back home in Lancaster. The old Blue and gray Walmart. The Walmarts before there were "Supercenters". I remember all of my important years were in that walmart. It took me back a second and made me very homesick! Here were the things that came to mind when thinking of that building......
-Getting make-up...I remember those make-up isles because that is where i shopped when I first started wearing make-up. I remember Clear mascara and pink lip gloss. That is where it all began.
-Getting CD's....Oh I remember spending hours in the electronics section. Those were the days when you told your parents you were going to that section and then you were afraid to leave because you would be dead if you wandered the store looking for them and they couldn't find you in the electronics section.
-Getting house hold items and clothing only!!!!! We would always have to make multiple shopping lists because Walmart did not have food, just snack isles.
-Getting school supplies....Oh school supplies. Believe it or not this was always my favorite time of year!
- Looking at all of the holiday stuff out in the garden area! It was never inside the store but always out in the garden area
- Shopping for baby Morgan! Morgan was just a baby while this Walmart was still open and we would go pick out clothing for her and get bottles and sippy cups! I loved shopping for baby stuff for her.
-And last but certainly not least. Late night visits with all of the girls from high school to go buy tons of Toilet Paper! We would always decide last minute to go teepee some guys house and would get tons of it.....Yeah no one know what we were doing!!!!!
Those were the good old days when Walmart and Costco were in the same shopping center! And Costco only had flat bed carts! I love how wonderful life was when I was growing up!
