New Years Eve I picked up Derek at the Sky Harbor Airport at 7:30pm. We headed straight home to plan our evening. We had thought about going to the Fiesta Bowl Block party in Tempe that happens every New Years Eve. After getting home we decided we were tired and did not feel like fighting 100,000 people on Mill Avenue. We took off to Cafe Rio for dinner. It was a very nice quiet dinner with just the two of us. Then we were off to our apartment. We pulled out our hide-a-bed in the living room and watched Larry Crowne, which we both loved. Tom Hanks is one of our favorites so it was a great movie to us. Towards then end of the movie we had to pause it to get our sparkling cider and wish each other a happy New Year. I put our cider in the closest thing to a fancy cup....our bubba gumps cup from our honeymoon in Hawaii. We turned off the lights and lit up the cup. It was super fun! Derek even mentioned that we should go to bubba gumps again so we can get another cup! I think this will have to be one of our new family traditions....sparkling cider and bubba gumps light up cups!
Happy NEW YEAR!
