On Wednesday nights Derek always goes and plays basketball at church. Lately it has been a little lame. They play 4 on 4 because not enough guys show and it is pretty slow competition. Last night I decided to stay home and get somethings done that I really needed to get done. When Derek got home at about 11pm I asked him, "How was it tonight?". He replied "Too good" in a low voice.
When your husband says too good in a not too good voice I tend to instantly get worried!!!
He went on to tell me that the competition that night was the best he has ever played at church ball here in Arizona. He was having a great time and then he let his pride get the best of him and he took a defensive charge (let a guy run him down, that was going up for a shot). He then went on to say that NO ONE does this in church ball and that he just wanted to win. So when the guy charged Derek it forced him to the ground and what do you know the first thing Derek did was put his hands down to the ground.
Last night it hurt him a lot and this morning he couldn't move it! He will be going to the doctor today to see what is wrong. Hopefully just a fracture, because after all it is his right hand. We could care less about writing and moving it in general, but that is his pitching hand so we are worried about that! Hopefully it will be nothing otherwise if it did break Derek will be averaging a surgery a year since we have been married and I don't think I am liking this stat!
