Annoyed

I just need to vent to myself for a minute. I feel like if I write things down I can just get over them and move on.....

Derek got a root canal this morning ($1000.00)

Everything went great and we are grateful for that.


While I was waiting I received a call from the Camera place letting me know that they can't fix my camera and they would have to send it out to Nikon. Nikon did give them a quick estimate and it would be .....$350.00 !!!!

I just cried!!! That camera is 3 years old (exactly I got it the first Christmas Derek and I were married). 3 years ago the whole kit cost $700.00, so I bet I could buy just the body brand new for about $400.00 right now!  There is no way I am going to pay that much for just the repair!

When we went to pick up the camera they said they had no clue what was wrong, but it was just too much for them to look further into it.

Derek and I then went upstairs to talk with the salesman and find out a few things since my next camera purchase needs to be a great camera that will last me a while. The man asked about me and my photography. He asked about how many pictures a month I take. Well I take about 300 a week ( in one shoot I take about 300). He just started laughing and said that my D60 lasted me quite a long time considering I take that many pictures. He then told me that with the beginner cameras like my D60 you should only take about 300 pictures a month. He said that there is probably nothing wrong with my camera other then being COMPLETELY burnt out!

And yes I would agree!

So I have been nausea all day just thinking about all the money that we are spending! I am a firm believe from this teeth and camera experience that when it rains it pours!!!!!

One thing is for sure it will be at least a month before I have a camera again, because I can not afford to drop that kind of money until I completely research all of my options!
