Palm Springs for my Birthday...

Last Friday after Derek's classes we took off to Palm Springs to met my family. Sadly we thought it was the middle point but really it was a 4 hour drive for us instead of 3. That's ok though because it was well worth it. Once there we got unloaded and went out to dinner. We went to Mimi's Cafe which was very good. I haven't eaten there before or if I have it was a long time ago, and I really enjoyed it. Next we decided to do some shopping. We headed to Target first to get some eye drops for me because of my allergies. We were walking down the main isle and as I looked down I saw a huge black man. I think I instantly froze! I turned around to Derek who was behind me and said.... "Derek look.." he instantly replied " I know...I know..." I seriously couldn't think. I hardly remember what happened next. I just remember he walked past me and Derek told him "Good listening to you last night" The man then came over to Derek, shook his hand , and said "Thank you Man". By the way I am describing this situation and by the way I felt that day you would have thought we met someone amazing....well to us he is amazing. We met CHARLES BARKLEY! Loved it. The whole rest of the time we were in Target he kind of followed us around the store then he stood in line behind us. It was super neat. I asked Derek multiple times if we could take a picture with him and Derek said no that it was his personal time....Lame! We did a little more shopping that night and swimming at the hotel pool then off the bed. In the morning we got up early to go on the tram that takes you to the top of the mountains in Palm Springs. The Aerial Tramway. It was fun, beautiful, and amazing to go up there. We went to the very top of the mountain and it was freezing but so neat. Morgan got super scared on the tram, but the rest of us had fun. I wish we would have had time to hike more up there, but it was super cold. After the tram we made our way to the cabazon outlets. First we had lunch at Ruby's because Morgan really likes that place. AS we were there they sang happy birthday to me and put a hat on. We had my dad take a picture of me with the hat and sundae before I blew out the candle. Well my hat fell off and as I was worrying about that I spilt the sundae and the candle was lit on the table. Morgan blew it out and we were all laughing hysterically....dumb hat! At the outlet we went shopping for multiple things but the most important was my second coach purse. My birthday present from Derek. This one is super fun and I love  it. After shopping we mainly just hung out with my family which was much needed for me. Morgan got a game and her, Derek and I played Cars Slider Sorry. It was a lot of fun. Sunday morning we got up ate breakfast and were on our way home. Derek and I stopped by a church building to take the sacrament before we left town and sat in the lobby so we didn't disturb the meeting when we left. We sat there through the whole sacrament to find out the ward does not serve the sacrament in the lobby. That was a bummer. It was a great much needed weekend of getting away from our busy life here and just having fun and relaxing! I Love my birthday trips! Plus my parents got a new car....I love their new jeep, and I found our next car....the Dodgers baseball car. Ok I will never own that car but I thought it was neat!
