October 2014

In October this year Summer and I had the opportunity to go to St. George and visit my life long friend Shay and her family. Shay basically lives off her land so Summer got to experience a week of country living with chickens, gardens, and Red Rocks. IT was a fun week with our friends Weston, Lucy and new baby boy Jacob. I just love this family to pieces and it was amazing hanging out with Richard and Annette as well. I think Summers favorite thing was the multiple swings in the yard.
In October we had many festive activities. We went to Lombardi Ranch which is a pumpkin patch that my family has been going to since I was a little girl. I absolutely loved going there as a kid and now it is even better being a parent and seeing the excitement that Summer has when I take her there. We went to the Feline Compound in Rosamond, Ca and got up close and personal with all kinds of Cats. They were beautiful and it was a beautiful afternoon. Our little kitty was by far the cutest of the all. Then we had our Ward trunk or treat and Halloween. This year I asked Summer multiple times what she wanted to be. Every time we would go to the store I would hold up two costumes and she would always choose the "pie" ...Pirate. She loves pirates and pirate cartoons and always goes around saying "Mama, I'm a pie...arrrg". It is seriously adorable and her obsession at this time. Naturally Derek and I then went to the thrift store and had to find our "pie" costumes. We all three dressed up for the trunk or treat but because Derek had school the night of Halloween and it was freezing we dressed Summer up only and I wore red lipstick as my Halloween costume and just walked two blocks and then headed home. October was a very fun month for us. The excitement of the Holidays was in full force.
